Running a gaming venue
shouldn't feel like this.

We built Dice Boss because these are the things venue owners tell us keep them up at night.

📞

"Just DM us to book a table"

Half your day disappears to booking requests in your inbox, messages on social media, and phone calls — before you've even opened the doors.

📅

Double-Bookings & Conflicts

Two groups show up for the same table because the spreadsheet wasn't updated in time. Cue the awkward apologies.

💸

No-Shows With No Warning

A table sits empty for hours because someone just didn't show up. No message. No payment. Nothing you can do about it.

🎲

Events Are an Admin Nightmare

Google Forms, manual payment collection, and a spreadsheet of attendees — running an in-store tournament or league night shouldn't take this much effort before a dice has been rolled.

🗓️

Closures Are a Logistical Mess

Holidays, tournaments, and private events all need blocking out — but you can't just cancel bookings that already exist for those days.

💳

Taking Payments Is a Headache

Collecting fees on the day slows everything down. Taking card details over the phone is a compliance nightmare waiting to happen.

🔍

Players Can't Find You Online

Gamers are searching for somewhere to play right now — but without a clear online presence, they'll book somewhere else before they even find you.

The Solution

Everything your venue needs,
nothing you don't.

Not a spreadsheet with a login page. Not a hair salon booking app with a new logo. Built from the ground up for tabletop gaming venues.

🆓

Start for Free, Genuinely

Create your business, connect Stripe, and take bookings on the free tier — no card required, no trial clock. Upgrade whenever it makes sense for lower fees and more venues.

🌐

Bookings While You Sleep

Players browse your availability and book directly from your public page — no phone calls, no inbox threads, even at 2am on a Sunday.

⚡

No More Double-Bookings, Ever

Availability is calculated live from your hours, existing bookings, changeover time, and closures. The system simply won't let two bookings clash.

💳

Payments That Just Work

Set a rate per table and Dice Boss handles everything — card authorisation at booking, settlement straight to your account, refunds handled automatically.

📊

A Real Payments Dashboard

See every charge, issue manual refunds, and manage your payout schedule and bank details from a dedicated Payments page — no digging through a separate Stripe login.

🌍

Built for International Venues

Booking payments, event tickets, and your subscription are all priced automatically in your local currency — GBP, USD, CAD, AUD, or EUR.

💰

Flexible Pricing Per Table

Standard flat rates, minimum fees with extras, or staggered hourly tiers — charge more for hour one and less as sessions run long. Configured independently for every table.

🔗

Table Linking for Large Parties

Enable table linking so a big group can book across multiple tables at once. Charge per party or per table — your rules, your revenue.

🚶

Walk-in Bookings

For customers who just show up — create a booking on their behalf from your dashboard. Pick the table, enter their details, and it's logged instantly. No account required on their end.

🎯

Tables Assigned Automatically

Dice Boss picks the right table for every booking based on party size, availability, and your rules — no manual allocation, no accidentally double-booking your best table.

🚧

Closures Without the Chaos

Need to block off time for a holiday, a tournament, or a deep clean? Add a one-off or recurring closure and new bookings stop — without touching anything already confirmed.

📧

Confirmations on Autopilot

The moment a booking is made, the customer gets a confirmation email. Cancellations notify both sides automatically. You don't lift a finger.

📋

One Dashboard, Every Booking

Filter by status, venue, date, or reference number — across every venue you run. See today's schedule at a glance or dig into last month, no spreadsheet, no inbox archaeology.

🛡️

Payment Upfront, Protection Built In

Customers pay in full at the point of booking. They can cancel for a full refund up to 2 hours before their slot — after that, the payment is yours. Business cancellations always refund automatically.

⚙️

Rules That Fit Your Venue

Set minimum durations, slot lengths, changeover gaps, notice windows, and how far ahead players can book — configured per venue, never one-size-fits-all.

❤️

Player Favourites

Customers can save your venue to their favourites for one-tap booking next time. Build your regular player base without any marketing effort.

Events & Ticketing

Run events. Sell tickets.
Fill every seat.

Host tournaments, league nights, learn-to-play sessions, or any other event — with ticketing, capacity management, photos, and payments built right in. No third-party tools, no separate sign-up forms.

🎟️

Create Ticketed Events

Set a title, description, start and end time, price (or make it free), and capacity — single date or a recurring weekly/monthly series. Your event goes live on your public page instantly.

🎫

Multiple Ticket Types

Offer different prices for the same event — general admission, VIP, junior, and so on — each tracked and sold independently.

🖼️

Event Photo Galleries

Add photos to your event listing so players know exactly what to expect. Your first photo doubles as the event's header image, and customers can click any photo to view it enlarged.

📊

Manage Attendees

See every ticket holder in one place from your dashboard, per occurrence. Know exactly who's coming before the day, with no manual tracking required.

📝

Add Walk-in Attendees

Someone paid cash at the door? Add them to the attendee list in a few seconds with just a name — no account needed on their end.

🔄

Handle Cancellation Requests

Optionally accept ticket cancellation requests, and approve or decline each one — refunds are issued through Stripe automatically, with no manual work on your end.

🚧

Auto-Block Table Availability

Running an event on the floor? Have Dice Boss automatically close the relevant tables for the duration of every occurrence, so bookings can't clash with it.

What Venues Say

Don't just take our word for it.

"I couldn't imagine not having this system in place!"

Matt and the team at Dice Boss have been amazing in developing the booking app to include all our needs as a board game cafe — from regular table bookings to event bookings. We have gone from using several other systems that weren't ideal to moving over to Dice Boss — one booking app that has everything we need. It is simple to use and the customer experience has been positive too, and we are getting regular bookings and notifications that help us focus on the other side of running a business. Any time we have needed support, the team have answered our questions and helped make sure we felt we were getting a service to suit us.

FAQ

Common questions, answered.

Do I need to subscribe to use Dice Boss?
No. Create your business profile, complete Stripe Connect onboarding, and you can start taking bookings on the free tier straight away — no card details, no trial countdown. The free tier covers one venue with every core feature. Subscribing to Starter or Pro later unlocks a lower platform fee, more venues, free (£0) bookings and events, and event photos.
Can I sell tickets to events at my venue?
Yes. Events is built right into Dice Boss. Create an event with a title, description, start and end time, capacity, and either a flat ticket price or several ticket types at different prices (general admission, VIP, junior, and so on). Your event is immediately listed on your public page — customers browse, purchase tickets, and receive an order confirmation automatically. You see every attendee in your dashboard and can handle any cancellation requests in one place, with refunds processed through Stripe automatically if applicable.
Can I add photos to my events?
Yes, on a paid subscription — 3 photos per event on Starter, 10 on Pro. Your first photo also becomes the event's header image on your public page, and customers can click any photo to view it enlarged. The free tier doesn't include event photos; if you drop to free tier after uploading some, they're kept but hidden from customers until you resubscribe.
Do I have to charge customers to use Dice Boss?
Not at all. Whether your tables are free or paid is entirely up to you — and you can mix both in the same venue. We only charge a platform fee when a customer actually pays for a booking or ticket: 5% on Starter and Pro, 7.5% on the free tier. Stripe's standard card processing fees also apply to paid transactions. Free tables cost you nothing on a paid plan — no Dice Boss fee, no Stripe fee. (Free-tier venues can't offer £0 bookings or events — every table and event needs a price.)
What pricing options are available for tables?
Three options: Standard pricing — a fixed rate per booking interval. Minimum fee pricing — a base cost covering the minimum booking duration, with an additional rate for each extra interval beyond that. Staggered pricing — hourly tiers, so you can charge more for the first hour and reduce the rate as the session runs longer. Each table is configured independently, so you can mix pricing models within the same venue.
Can I create bookings for walk-ins, or add attendees who paid in person?
Yes to both. From the Bookings section, use Create Booking to log a walk-in table booking — pick the table, enter the customer's name, email and phone, and it's recorded instantly with no upfront payment. For events, the Attendees page lets you add someone who paid cash at the door with just a name (and optionally an email for a confirmation message) — no account needed on their end.
Why do I need to complete Stripe onboarding?
Dice Boss uses Stripe Connect to send booking and ticket payments straight to your bank account. Stripe's identity verification (KYC) is a legal requirement any time money moves between accounts — it's not something we can skip. The good news: the whole process happens inside Dice Boss, you're never redirected to a separate Stripe page, and a dedicated Payments page lets you track charges, issue refunds, and manage payouts afterwards.
Can I pay yearly or make a one-time lifetime payment?
Yes. Starter and Pro are both available monthly, yearly (2 months free compared to paying monthly), or as a one-time lifetime payment with no ongoing billing at all. You can switch between monthly and yearly at any point from the Billing page.
What happens if a customer doesn't show up for a paid booking?
Payment is taken in full at the point of booking. Customers can cancel and receive a full refund up to 2 hours before their slot starts — after that, the payment is non-refundable. If you as the venue cancel a booking for any reason, the customer is always refunded automatically. No manual work, no calls to your payment provider.
Can customers book without creating an account?
Anyone can browse your public page and check availability without signing in. To actually complete a booking or buy a ticket, they do need a free account — that's what ties their confirmation email, booking history, and cancellation rights together. It takes about 30 seconds to register.
How do I block out time for a holiday, private event, or tournament?
Use the Closures feature in your dashboard. You can close a whole venue or a single table, for a one-off period or a recurring series. New bookings stop for that time — anything already confirmed is left completely untouched. Events can also auto-create a matching closure so table bookings pause automatically for the duration of every occurrence.
What if I need more than one venue?
The Free and Starter plans cover one venue. If you're running more than that, Pro gives you unlimited venues. You can upgrade any time from your billing page — everything carries over, including your booking history.
Is Dice Boss available outside the UK?
Yes. Booking payments, event tickets, and subscription billing are all priced automatically in your business's local currency — GBP, USD, CAD, AUD, or EUR — based on where you're registered, so there's no manual currency picker to worry about.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Head to the Billing page in your account and cancel through the Stripe Customer Portal — no phone call, no form to fill in, no cancellation fee. Once cancelled, your account simply falls back to the free tier: you keep your existing venue, bookings, and history, just with the free-tier limits until you resubscribe.
Do my customers need to download an app?
No downloads required — for you or your players. Dice Boss is entirely web-based. Customers book from any browser on any device, and you manage everything from your dashboard the same way.
What payment methods do customers use?
Dice Boss uses Stripe's Payment Element, which supports all major cards — Visa, Mastercard, Amex — plus many other payment methods depending on where your customers are. Stripe handles the details so you don't have to.
